How does it work?

Contact PLAC3D to schedule a 3D scan. The scan itself takes approximately 1-1.5 hours per 1000 sq. ft. scanned. See our suggested preparation list on how to prepare the space for a PLAC3D scan. During the scan, the specialty camera is placed at regular intervals throughout the space and a 360-degree scan is completed for each spot collecting both visual images and spacial data. After the scan is complete, the tour is processed and an embed code is created for you to share the tour. Most tours are available to view within 24-48 hours of the scan.

Is there a minimum or maximum sized space you can scan?

There is no minimum, you can scan one room if you like, but our base scan package includes up to 2000 square feet of scanned space. The maximum size for a single 3D showcase is approximately 10,000 square feet, though larger may be possible depending on the space.

What about areas that I don't want to include?

Any area that has a door can be left out of the tour. If there's no door, you may be able to "see" into the space, but a scan point will not be placed in the room so you won't be able to walk in. This may include closets, utility rooms, unfinished areas, etc. The only downside is that the dollhouse view will show a "black hole" in any space that is not scanned. Please discuss any areas that you would like to leave out prior to the scan.

How is this different from other "virtual tours"

The PLAC3D virtual tour is a full-immersion 3D walk-through where you can get a true sense of what it is like to be in a space and see how one room flows into the next. Also, our 3D model creates a dollhouse view and floor plan view of the space. Other virtual tours have a static perspective (no ability to move around) and simply show 360 degrees from one point. View our examples to fully experience getting PLAC3D.

Do I need to install special software to view the tour?

No, almost any web browser, including mobile phones and tablets can easily view and navigate a PLAC3D virtual tour. The 3D tour uses WebGL, the modern standard for 3D content viewed on the web. On desktop computers, WebGL is supported by the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer. On mobile devices, WebGL is supported by Safari for iOS 8 and Chrome for Android. To confirm that your browser supports WebGL, click here: WebGL test

How do I embed the tour on my webpage or MLS listing?

Embedding a PLAC3D tour is as simple as posting a YouTube video. When your tour has been created, you will be emailed the embed code. You can use this on your own website as well as add it to the virtual tour field in your MLS listing.

What is the cost?

Please contact us for a custom quote. PLAC3D scans vary based on the size of the space and the additional services requested.
